Hello

Hope you’re all well and are enjoying this warm bit of weather.

Lots of farmers have struggled so far this year with the lack of warmth, sunlight and dry weather. This includes Sarah & Rob who are venturing into a new field (metaphorically speaking) next week and are offering us their first ‘made product’. Rob has been perfecting a breakfast bar recipe which uses organic ingredients. They are vegan, gluten free and nut free. Next week they are on special offer too with 20% off. They are made to order, you can find them here
Hopefully the warmer weather will help bring their field crops on too!

Elsewhere the British veg continues to slowly flow with a couple of new additions. Expect UK aubergines, cucumbers and celery along with three types of mushrooms, lettuces and mini plum tomatoes. Interestingly, almost all of these items will have been grown under the safety of polytunnels.

From Europe, where the weather has been slightly more predictable, the highlights next week will include butternut squash, sweet potatoes and red palermo peppers.

Fruit next week includes some new season guyot pears from France, juliet apples from France, faralia apricots from Sicily along with black splendour plums, grapes and galia melons, all from Spain.

I am away next week (although sadly still working doing the admin stuff) so will be leaving you in the safe hands of Matthew and Josh who will be packing all your veg boxes. Tomasz is on holiday too with Ed covering for him and delivering both Tuesday and Thursday next week.

Enjoy the warmth and see you in a couple of weeks!
Thanks
Sam
