About our Chicken of the Woods Log Kit
Chicken of the Woods (COTW) is a beautiful and highly prized forager's mushroom found growing wild in the UK in the summer months. It's quite a sight to behold with it's bright orange and yellow colours, appearing in tiered clusters that are often enormous and growing high up on a standing tree.
COTW gets it's common name from its taste and texture when cooked... its incredibly chicken-like! Enjoy this delicious mushroom sauteed, in stews and curries, or deep fried in batter for a guilt free chicken nugget.
Our growing kit gives you the chance to grow your own chicken of the woods mushrooms at home- think of it as your own little foraging paradise. All you'll need is a hunk of freshly cut oak or beech wood for the fungi to feed on and they'll live happily outside all year round in a sheltered spot.
