Weekly roundup!

Week Commencing 28th October

Hello,

Hope all is well in your world!

Last week I briefly mentioned a potential new collaboration with a local fruit growing co-operative.
As they are nearing the end of their season we’ve pushed straight ahead and I’ve purchased a good amount of apples from Fruit Works Co-operative. They manage an orchard near Swillington/Great Preston LS26 and will be providing us with a variety of eating apples next week. I won’t know what varieties until I take delivery but they will all be eating apples!

Passion4Plants next week have got quite a mixture of lines, but all in small quantities.
They’ve got padron peppers, small thermidrome garlic (3 pack), mixed salad leaves, casablanca potatoes, mini la diva cucumbers (3 pack), marketmore cucumbers (2 pack) and hate them or love them jerusalem artichokes

They’ve also got one new exciting product, which to be honest, I didn’t even know about.
Turns out they’ve got their own hives at their market garden and have got some jars of bee pollen for us next week. Goes great sprinkled on top of yogurt!

Andy at Living Potential is trying to clear out the rest of his parsley for the year so you’ll notice every box this week has one more item in vs normal, which should be flat or curly parsley depending on your box. Consider it a gift from him to you!

He’s also changed his beetroot variety to bulls blood, adding some very impressive winter savoy cabbages, added a new bigger 200g bag of spinach (normally 100g) as well as adding lettuce heads and rocket.

He's also got an array of winter squash next week, starting at small 0.5kg-1.5kg all the way up to large 2.5-4kg.

And lastly on the veg front, I've purchased my first sprouts of the season. I used to keep these until right before Christmas being the traditionalist I am, but turns out people love them and they are in season, so fill your boots!

Apart from the above mentioned Leeds grown apples, highlights for fruit next week should be British concorde pears which have pretty good numbers available as swaps.

Have a great weekend.
Thanks
Sam
