Hello,

Hope you are all having a nice week.

I am writing this on Thursday morning but perhaps by the time you are reading this, what’s coming up in your veg box next week won’t be the biggest new story of the day!

Last week we welcomed a new driver to the team, Tomasz.
Born in Poland, Tomasz has lived in the UK for 12 years along with his wife Grace. Together they run a yoghurt company called Curds Our Whey based in Batley.
Tomasz was diagnosed with leukaemia four years ago and Tuesday was his first day back working for 4 years after his recovery (and he loved it!). His diagnoses completely changed the way they live their lives, this meant changing their diet and realising most of what there were consuming was filled with e numbers and unnecessary ingredients.
Their company and yoghurt was born out of Tomasz's recovery, it is 100% natural and made with only two ingredients (whole milk and organic live yoghurt cultures).

The hope is (pending a shelf life test), he will start to be able to supply yoghurt through the business to our customers.

He will be doing Tuesday deliveries to begin with. As always, with any new member of the team, if you notice any changes to your deliveries you don't like, e.g leaving your box in a weird place, then just drop me a message and I can feed it back to him.

Better still, you can add a delivery note to your account (account > address), which will pop up on both Ed’s and Tomasz’s phones when they are delivering to you.

This week I’ve added one new cheese to the site - the award winning saint giles cheese from High Weald Dairy. As well as a restock of spelt wholegrain fusilli.
Passion4Plants have also added mixed salad bags, runner beans and fine french beans.

BEANS, BEANS, BEANS - a few boxes next week will also feature broad beans from Doncaster with a few kilos up for grabs as swaps.

You’ll find new season potatoes, carrots, bunched beetroot and bunched carrots in boxes next week.
The first summer cabbage (pointed) has arrived in most boxes along with two types of UK grown tomatoes, cherry vine from Haslum & Sons and mini plum from The Tomato Stall, both available as swaps too.

Flat parsley is back in stock from Portugal.

Just as the quality of apricots, nectarines and peaches start to deteriorate, there are still some nice stoned fruits to look forward to. Next week there are black splendour plums and cherries along with canary melons, grapefruits, jongaprince apples, grapes and giffard pears.

There'll be a new type of lemon coming directly from I Fruitti Del Sol in Sicily next week (who supplies us with blood oranges) called bianchetto. It’s a spring lemon, the fruit of the second flowering.

Have a great weekend
Thanks
Sam
