Hello,
Happy New Year!
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.
Last week I was busy making improvements to the warehouse and didn't notice this email had 'failed' to send on Friday.
Most swaps are now sold out for the week and some customers deadline has already passed. But there are some new additions to talk about so I thought I'd send this anyway!
If you are a new customer or have forgotten then normally veg boxes contents get uploaded Thursday afternoon, I sent out this email on Friday morning and the website sends a reminder email at about 4pm on the day of your order deadline (deadlines - Sunday 11pm for Monday delivery or Monday 11pm for Thursday delivery). The earlier you check the website the more will be available.
From next week LS28 and LS13 postcodes are moving from Tuesday to Thursday delivery.
I've added 3 new products to the website all available as one off, weekly or fortnightly delivery.
They are....LEMONS, GINGER AND TURMERIC!
Lemons are in packs of 4 or packs of 7. I've been doing a shot of lemon each morning (pack of 7, see what I did there) over Christmas with some leftover lemons from the Christmas boxes and have yet to succumb to any winter lurgies.
Turmeric and ginger will both come in 100g portions give or take. All of the new products are cheaper than Riverford and Abel & Cole.
If you do want these products regularly then please do considering ordering them on a repeat basis (weekly or fortnightly) so I can plan my ordering accordingly. If waste starts to occurs it's very hard to offer these things to be available every week!
Produce is still fairly thin on the ground as farms start back up after their Christmas closures. Produce, people and pallets are all in the wrong place. It'll take another couple of weeks until the much more employee friendly organic sector is back in full swing. I'm certain that if you looked in the wrong field on Christmas Day you would have found foreign workers on minimum wage picking veg to ensure the multi billion pound supermarket supply chain keeps on flowing throughout Christmas and New Year.
This week's boxes feel like a good mixture of UK produce with some European produce to bring a bit of colour to our boxes.
Highlights this week should include...
Passion4Plants have limited amounts of
And finally, Leeds Bread Co-op have a new special for the next two weeks, their lovely olive sourdough.
Have a great week
Thanks
Sam
