Hello,
Hope you’ve had a good week!
On my first day back driving the van in a while, I somehow managed to dodge the majority of rain yesterday on what was appearing like an ominous day.
As predicted, all these comm have been pushed back a little bit as I scramble to get everything done in time for the website to go live for the week.
We’ve had a somewhat turbulent time in the warehouse recently which has peaked with a change in personnel. There have been too many packing mistakes, missing items and general lack of quality control from the warehouse team in recent months so I apologies if you have had any issues with your boxes over the summer. I stepped back into the warehouse packing team on Monday and Wednesday and I am delighted to say we had a near perfect week, which gives me a lot of confidence going into the busiest time of the year for us.
My plan is to stay in the packing team for the foreseeable future to ensure the quality of our product is up to the standard it should be. But I am actively looking for a Thursday driver if anybody knows of anyone who might be interested…
Next week Denton Reserve are back with a good amount of rainbow chard, swiss chard, spinach, courgettes, parsley (flat and curly) and two new herbs for us to try, dill and coriander.
I was away the last time Beth delivered to us so I am looking forward to meeting her in person on Monday.
It’s a great week for British tomatoes next week, enjoy them whilst we still can, they won’t be here for much longer!! Passion4Plants have two types of Leeds grown tomatoes - salad red cherry and mixed colours along with cherry vine tomatoes and mini plum tomatoes from The Tomato Stall.
Living Potential have some new products for us this week including Leeds grown leeks, spinach (smaller bags than what is shown in the picture I think) and winter squash. The winter squashes feature in some boxes and are massive apparently, so will be quartered and delivered cut and un-packaged, just FYI. It’s a new one for me too…but they are confident they’ll keep fine.
They’ve also got spring onions back, loads of beetroot and loads of radishes to enjoy.
And with that, enjoy your weekend!
Thanks
Sam
