Hello

Hope you’ve had a good week!

There is progressively less UK produce around at the moment although it feels like I am still managing to source a few nice and unusual items.

Next week from the UK there is more purple sprouting broccoli in larger boxes and much more available as add ons compared to a few weeks ago. From Lancashire I've sourced some small bunched leeks (6 leeks per bunch) in a few boxes as well as available as swaps.

I’ve also got some new UK apples (crimson crisp) from Suffolk and carrots next week are yellowstone carrots all round!

Delivery driver Ed from the Yorkshire Mushroom Emporium has put some grey oyster mushrooms aside for us.

From Europe you can expect padron peppers, broccoli, courgettes and aubergines all from Spain.

Fruit for the next week includes the aforementioned crimson crisps, more lovely tango clems we had back in January and ruby star grapefruits from Valencia.

Passion4Plants feature in some boxes this week and have good numbers of their now usual winter offering - pea shoots, microgreens, bay leaves and one lonely bunch of kale.

Leeds Bread continue with their special for one more week - raisin and walnut sourdough. Get it whilst you can!

And finally I'll leave you with this one...
I read a stat this week that said only 20% of food for sale in the UK is grown here. I just had a quick calculation of all the lines of food we are offering next week and what % of those come from the UK. Including eggs, milk and bread it's 61%. Not bad for rainy February in the northern hemisphere!

Have a fantastic weekend.
Thanks
Sam
