Hello
This heatwave caught me off guard to be honest. Thankfully the boxes weren't filled with too many leafy greens so I think I just about survived - apart from the odd yellow courgette which didn't seem to enjoy the heat in the back of the van.
The new website seems to have bedding in quite well albeit over summer when there were lots of holiday requests which freed up extra stock for new customers and swaps.
How are you finding the new website/systems? If you have any comments or thoughts please let me know!
The website providers only launched this year, I was their 5th live user and the platform is still very much a work in progress. They are a team of 5 (3 coders, 1 veg box scheme owner and a customer support member) who are continuously developing the platform and who I have direct contact with. To put that into perspective, my old website provider had 9000 users, my first ever website provider had 700 million users...
Last week one of my customer asked if out of stock items on the swaps list could not show or be crossed out instead of allowing you to add it to your box only to find out the item is already sold out. I have now put this in as a feature request to the team which they have added to their development list.
It's also worth noting that the website updates each Thursday, roughly 5pm and closes at 11pm on Monday for the end of the week, the closer you try to make swaps to the end of the websites working week, the less likely they'll be any of the good stuff left. Think of it like a market stall, rock up at 4:55pm on a Friday, you ain't getting class 1 locally grown strawberries!
The more the business grows, the more the website stock management module gets developed and the more Passion4Plants grow (literally), the better the swaps system will work in the future!
The most exciting thing to talk about this week is we've now got some Leeds Veg Box branded coffees!
These have been a work in progress and a labour of love in the background with Chipp Coffee Co. for some time so it's great to finally get my hands on them!
Check them out on the coffee tab at the top.
Fruit and veg highlights this week probably come in the form of...
Enjoy the hot hot weekend!
Thanks
Sam
