Hello,

Hope you are having a good week so far and looking forward to the weekend.

Sarah from Passion4Plants contacted me yesterday saying she had some random self seeded tomatoes plants that need a home. She has no idea what variety they are, so completely pot luck and yours for only £2. There are 16 of these available and they are looking healthy and strong! Buy them here.

Stoned fruit season for me is normally a bit of a love hate affair. I personally love cherries, nectarines and apricots. However, these can sometimes be fraught with quality issues. It’s not uncommon for say 30% waste on a box of peaches (probably the worst offender, which is why they very rarely feature in my boxes). They look fine when delivered to me but once they get up to room temperature they pretty much go straight away. Cherry season didn’t even happen last year, I purchased one box, they arrived poor quality, I received a refund and I never saw them available again…

However, touchwood (and tempting fate) this year has been a very good year for stoned fruit so far and I am yet to have any significant problems - so it’s a year of love for me. Next week you can have your pick of nectarines, apricots, cherries or plums.
Just a note for Thursday customers, there will only be one box of cherries as they are super expensive and they will be coming at the start of the week, so it's up to you if you want to order them! They’ll be in the fridge and I’m sure fine but just FYI.

A few more things are popping up (literally) from the UK again this week.
There are new season bunched carrots which were great last week, new season bunched onions, two types of lettuce, more pak choi and vine tomatoes

From Europe next week there are new season butternut squash in a lot of boxes, palermo peppers for the first time in ages (the price of these have been high for a long time) along with the usual cucumber, broccoli, courgette and aubergine for this time of year. Arguably the most  exciting and fancy item available next week is the coeur de beouf tomato from France.

The only herb available next week is coriander and here is plenty of it.

From Leeds next week there are plenty of grey oyster mushrooms available and a few salad bags from Passion4Plants.

As well as all the stoned fruit next week you can enjoy jazz apples, bananas, lemons and mini watermelons.

Have a great weekend.
Thanks
Sam
