Hello,

This week I am officially declaring it the start of Spanish citrus season. The earliest citrus is starting to disappear and next week all boxes with fruit in them will feature oronules clementines grown by Gospa Citrus in Mairena del Alcor, just east of Seville.

These guys have such high standards that they don't even deal with the super early stuff, this is their first variety of the season! Oreonules is a 4* rated clem on the Good Fruit Guide but by no means the best we'll get this season. Expect clementines and oranges from Jose for the foreseeable peaking in a few months time!

Carrying on with the fruit next week you'll also find more UK conference pears, more blaze apples (same as last week) and some Spanish pommies. I was told the UK pears were coming to an end but they seem to be continuing on so whilst we can, we may as well fill our boots!

Passion4Plants have added jerusalem artichoke next week for those who enjoy it, althought I've found it's a real love or hate veg. They also have lettuces, onions red and white, a tiny amount of beans and more micro greens!

Elsewhere they'll be washed carrots (woohoo), acorn squash, butternut squash and some lovely looking bunched beetroot - all from the UK!

At the end of next week I'll be moving the business to a new abode in Farsley so, off to plan I go!

Have a great weekend
Thanks
Sam
