View from the fields

It’s looking like that could be the end of the season for Living Potential for their first year of growing. Since Andy's first harvest for us back in August, he’s provided nearly 1500 portions of veg for our boxes. An absolute stellar effort considering he is working 3 days a week in his regular job. We shared a beer earlier this week, throwing ideas back and forth as to how he can become a full time grower and supply us with more veg next year. Hopefully some seeds of thought are sown!

Over at Passion4Plants this week Sarah has been planting out onions and garlic and sowing carrots and broad beans ready for harvest in June 2025. It’s amazing the forward planning it takes to get this veg into our boxes!
When asked about what we can look forward to next week Sarah said “we’ve got the last few bulbs of garlic, these will be small so will be in multi packs. I’ve added bunched chard and have got the last couple of tomatoes to harvest.”

Unfortunately a lot of Sarah's outdoor chard has been eaten by wildlife this past week, possibly a deer but she still has some plants inside her polytunnels which are looking great.

She was also wondering if anybody has been harvesting the tomato plants they sold earlier in the year? If you’ve had success let me know!

Pick of the bunch

It’s sweet potato season in Spain! Nothing says home comfort quite like the taste of a sweet potato. It’s like a treat version of a regular potato, naughty but nice! Although, I’m not actually sure how naughty they are? I do know they provide a hell of a lot of vitamin A which is good for your immune system which can only be a good thing at this time of year. This week I’ve ordered a good amount of small sweet potatoes, ideal for chips, wedges or topping on your favourite Mexican dish. Add them to your order using the button below.
